Derek Friend
Group Chairman, CloudINX
Derek Friend is an international technology and digital infrastructure executive with more than two decades of experience across telecommunications, data centres and critical infrastructure. His career includes senior leadership appointments spanning Africa, Europe, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific, with responsibilities covering corporate strategy, commercial development, infrastructure investment and mergers and acquisitions.
He has held executive positions with Schneider Electric, Digicel and 3G Mobile Botswana. His leadership experience also encompasses corporate strategy, cross-border commercial development and mergers and acquisitions.
His experience spans international carrier networks, terrestrial and subsea fibre, satellite communications, cloud interconnection and data centre infrastructure. As Group Chairman, he brings this experience to CloudINX’s strategic direction, corporate development and long-term growth.
